Statement of Work (SOW)

To upgrade the lightning protection system (LPS) at Building 1825, Malmstrom Air Force Base, MT, to meet current standards, test it, and certify it per NFPA 780 Chapter 8.

• Upsize LPS cables to AWG 4/0 (approximately ½”) copper.

• Replace a small quantity of frayed cable on Pole #5.

• Perform acceptance testing compliant with the most current edition of NFPA 780.

• Provide a hard copy and digital CD of acceptance testing results and the UL Lightning Protection Inspection Certificate, certified to NFPA 780 Chapter 8.

• Contractor must have completed Senior Inspector AMMO 50 training or equivalent.

• Ground resistance to earth must be 25 ohms or less.

• Bonding resistance must not exceed 1 ohm.

• Test equipment must be calibrated and documentation provided.

• Acceptance testing must be performed after the ground has been dry for 3 consecutive days.
