Scope of Work
The selected contractor will be responsible for the planning, design, construction, and management of all activities to upgrade Building 1921's power infrastructure. Key tasks include:
- Electrical Design: Providing a comprehensive electrical design for power upgrades.
- UPS Replacement: Removing the existing 150kVA UPS and installing a new exterior 450kVA UPS with a minimum 15-minute run time at full load.
- Equipment Installation: Installing a new 1000kVA Transformer, 750kW Generator (with 2-minute start-up delay), 2500 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), and a 2500 Amp exterior Switchboard capable of monitoring active current load per circuit.
- Fuel Tank Installation: Installing a new above-ground diesel fuel tank for the generator, adhering to specific requirements (e.g., UL 2085, 72-hour run time, 85% max fill).
- Infrastructure Rework: Reworking the main service and Main Distribution Panel (MDP) to balance loads and installing new underground duct banks while preserving existing communications duct banks.
- Existing Equipment Management: Removing and returning specific existing equipment (500kVA transformer, 350kW generator, ATS, diesel fuel tank) to the Government.
Performance & Compliance
The design must be constructible, safe, code-compliant, and meet all performance outcomes. All equipment must be suitable for exterior environments and not interfere with building egress.
