Scope of Work
This procurement covers the manufacture and supply of Ball Bearings that must meet specific material, physical, and mechanical requirements outlined in Drawing 8740736-1 and associated specifications. The Ball Bearings are intended for use on Navy submarines and shall be procured from suggested source(s) identified on the drawing for Control No. Dash 1. Key requirements include:
- Mercury-Free: Materials must be free from metallic mercury and contamination, critical for submarine/surface ship applications.
- Marking: Each production lot unit must be marked with contract, drawing/control, lot/batch, and serial number per MIL-STD-130.

Evaluation
Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose quotation provides the best value to the Government. Evaluation factors include:

- Non-Price Factors: a. Delivery Lead Time: Proposed lead times and schedules will be evaluated, with those in the best interest of the Government rated higher. b. Past Performance: Assessment of successful performance on related contracts, including quality, timeliness, cost management, communications, and customer satisfaction. All non-price evaluation factors, when combined, are approximately equal to price.
Additional Notes
- Mandatory Source Approval: Offerors must have Government source approval. If not currently approved, detailed information from the NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Brochure must be submitted with the proposal. Failure to provide this data will result in non-consideration.
- Quality Assurance: The supplier's Quality Inspection System must conform to MIL-I-45208 or ISO 9001 and NCSL A540.3 or ISO 10012.
- Packaging: Requirements are in accordance with MIL-STD 2073.
