Scope of Work
Battelle NEON Research Support Services (NRSS) are required to support mission-critical atmospheric and ecological research activities for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The scope includes comprehensive operations and maintenance support for 36 AERONET sun photometers (CIMEL CE-318N) located at NEON-operated field sites and two NEON facilities. Key services involve:
- Routine preventive and corrective maintenance
- Minor repairs and instrument calibrations
- Associated data handling in accordance with established NEON processes
- Continuous operations and monitoring of instruments
- Troubleshooting operational issues and replacing minor components
- Coordinating CIMEL calibrations, including instrument handling and shipping
- Ensuring near real-time transmission of raw observation data to the NEON cyberinfrastructure and then to AERONET
- Responding to data transfer interruptions, instrument outages, and configuration changes affecting data continuity or quality.
Battelle will manage a total of 49 CIMEL CE-318N instruments and maintain its current inventory of consumable supplies and minor components.
