This project will renourish shoreline in Palm Beach County, between Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Range Monuments R-92.1 and R-102. The project includes construction of a beach berm. The sand for the project will be sourced from a combination of borrow sources in the area, Palm Beach Harbor Entrance Channel and Settling Basins, Northern Borrow Area 1, and Northern Borrow Area 2. Palm Beach Harbor Entrance Channel and Settling Basins and Northern Borrow Area 2 are approximately 4 nautical miles from the midpoint of the project fill area. Northern Borrow Area 1 is approximately 5 nautical miles from the midpoint of the project fill area. See Section 01 57 20 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. Project work also includes, but is not limited to, endangered species observers (hopper dredges only), sea turtle trawling (hopper dredges only), beach tilling, vibration control and monitoring, environmental species monitoring, and turbidity monitoring.
