The upgrade aims to facilitate onsite research and other non-GSS network internet needs by replacing the current DSL service with a fiberoptic solution.

Statement of Work (SOW)

To upgrade the existing research internet service at the Bureau of Reclamation's Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility (BGNDRF) in Alamogordo, NM, to facilitate onsite research and other non-GSS network internet needs.

• Install approximately 800 ft of fiberoptic cable from a local provider to the facility's server room.

• Install indoor and outdoor wireless access points to provide comprehensive WiFi coverage.

• Install a network switch and associated equipment to connect to the existing ethernet system.

• Provide a static IP for clients requiring it.

• Ensure the network can support 10 regular users and 50-100 intermittent users, with an estimated requirement of a 1G/1G system.

• The contractor must coordinate with the fiberoptic owners and identify buried utilities before installation.

• The contractor is responsible for all installation, equipment, and maintenance.

• Provide monthly internet service with necessary bandwidth.

• Provide documentation including installation drawings, pictures, O&M manuals, and warranty information.

• Provide information on technical support response times and outage communication.
