Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory requests a proposal for Bi-2212 superconducting magnet wire. LBNL intends to acquire two or three 10 kg billets of wire with the following specifications:
• Bare wire diameter: 1.0 mm nominal, with an option of being further drawn to 0.8 mm
• Powder: Bi-2212 “521” composition (reference: EngiMat powder LXB-52)
• Outer sheath: Ag-Mg 0.2 wt%
• Inner sheath: pure Ag
• HTS fill factor: 23% ± 5% nominal
• Stacking design configuration: 37 x 18
• No twisting
• Intermediate annealing optional
• Minimum piece-length > 50m
