Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The U.S. Air Force (421st SCMS) is conducting Sources Sought / Market Research to identify qualified manufacturers for the BLADE COMPRESSOR (PN: 2814M91P01, NSN: 2840-01-695-0035PR). This effort aims to determine potential sources and assess the feasibility of a competitive or small business set-aside for a new spares buy. Responses are requested by April 28, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
This Sources Sought Synopsis is issued by the U.S. Air Force to gather information on industry capabilities for the "new manufacture" of the specified Blade Compressor. The government seeks to identify companies capable of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, facilities, and equipment for manufacturing, inspection, testing, preservation/packaging, and shipping. Responsibilities may also extend to supply chain management, logistics planning, forecasting, long-lead time parts procurement, diminishing manufacturing sources, and shipping serviceable assets. Potential sources may be responsible for nonrecurring engineering costs. The estimated spares requirement is for January 1, 2026. This is strictly market research and not a solicitation.
Submission Requirements
Interested sources must select "ADD ME TO INTERESTED VENDORS" on SAM.gov to participate. For qualification, potential sources are REQUIRED to complete a Source Approval Request (SAR) package as specified in the Qualification Requirements (QR) for this item. Manufacturing Qualification Requirements (MQR) and Engineering Data List (EDL) are embedded or referenced. Requests for Engineering Drawings should be submitted via email to ocalc.lgldo.public@us.af.mil. SAR packages must be submitted electronically via DoD SAFE (https://safe.apps.mil/). Responses are due by April 28, 2026.
Eligibility & Set-Aside
The government is interested in all potential sources, including Large Businesses, Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a)s, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. The applicable NAICS Code is 336412 with a size standard of 1,500 employees.
