Key Requirements

Quality Assurance & Traceability
Contractors must adhere to rigorous quality standards, including a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208 as an alternate) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-STD-45662). Government Quality Assurance at source is required, necessitating notification to DCMA. Traceability and Certification are paramount for Level I/SUBSAFE systems. Material must have a unique traceability number (heat-lot, heat-treat) marked on the material and linked to certification data. Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis per ASTM-A193 is required. Re-identification and re-certification are necessary if processing alters material properties.
