- Clearing involves maintaining a 4-foot wide by 8-foot high line of sight, cutting branches and trees up to 3 inches in diameter, and removing stumps to no higher than 3 inches above ground.
- Marking boundary lines and monuments by repainting old blazes, adding new blazes, and/or placing signs. Blazes should be 6 inches high and 3 inches wide, painted red and white, and placed 5 feet off the ground on "Line Trees" within 4 feet of the boundary line.
- Submitting a written report at the conclusion of the maintenance, noting missing, unlocated, or damaged monuments, encroachments, and trespasses, with photographic evidence.
- Providing a photo album of every monument located and missing, including broken or damaged monuments.
- All work must comply with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), EM 385-1-1, and OSHA standards.
