Quick Summary
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded a Single Award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract (N0001926D0006) to Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems, Inc. (KUAS) for BQM-177A Subsonic Aerial Target System Evaluation and Repair Services. This sole-source award, made under FAR Part 15, ensures continued support for the BQM-177A system, critical for weapon systems test and evaluation and Fleet training.

Rationale for Sole Source
This effort was awarded on a sole-source basis to KUAS because they are the original designer, developer, and manufacturer of the BQM-177A SSAT. KUAS possesses unique mission kits, special tooling, software, support equipment, proprietary rights, and the exclusive technical data and software rights required. Awarding to any other source would result in substantial and unrecoverable duplication of costs to the government. Market research, including a pre-solicitation notice on SAM.gov, did not yield any responses from other potential sources.
Future Competition
NAVAIR currently has no plans to compete future contracts for these specific supplies and services. However, the agency will assess the feasibility of competition if another potential source emerges.
