Scope of Work
The Budget Analyst will support office-wide budget processes, including:
- Facilitating the allocation of program funding.
- Assisting in managing the office’s operating plan, including reviewing prior-year recoveries.
- Monitoring funding to identify and resolve accounting irregularities.
- Supporting financial management during year-end closing processes.
- Contributing to Department-wide budget and performance measurement exercises.
- Providing ad hoc reporting on budget issues and reviewing financial reports.
- Supporting the development, submission, execution, and closeout of interagency agreements and project budgets.
- Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in budgeting, accounting, or financial management.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to evaluate costs, interpret financial data, and solve complex problems.
- Knowledge of budget and finance principles, practices, and methods of budget execution.
- Proficiency with financial and data management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Oracle, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Experience communicating complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, public administration, or a related field.
- Professional experience with international assistance organizations or U.S. Government initiatives.
