Scope of Work
The primary objective is to relocate three existing bus ducts and multiple conduits and communication cables within Building 299, Zone 8, moving them closer to the building roof trusses. Key tasks include:
- Bus Duct Relocation:
- Relocate a 1200-amp Square D, I-Line bus duct approximately 300 feet, including a 50-foot extension and provision of specific bus plugs.
- Relocate an 800-amp Siemens, Spectra series bus duct approximately 110 feet, with potential modifications for crane installation.
- Relocate a second 800-amp Siemens, Spectra series bus duct from Zone 6 to Zone 8, approximately 110 feet, including a 40-foot extension and provision of specific bus plugs.
- Conduit and Cable Relocation: Move various conduits and communication lines in Zone 8 above heaters and closer to roof trusses in specified areas.
- Removal: Remove drop cords, associated supporting items, electrical bus sections, and a large junction box protruding into the high bay area.
- General Requirements: Provide all necessary conductors, conduits, support systems, bus ducts, bus plugs, and hardware. Verify wiring and power availability in new locations. Install conduits as close to roof trusses as possible.
Performance Standards & Special Requirements

Strict adherence to Rock Island Arsenal security protocols (background checks, FPCON, RAMP, Anti-Terrorism Level I, iWatch training) and OSHA/RIA safety standards is mandatory. Real ID will be required for entry starting May 3, 2025. RIA will provide utilities to the first connection point, and contractors are responsible for anchoring mechanisms. Complete documentation packages are required upon completion, with final acceptance contingent on successful performance testing and government inspection.
