Quick Summary
The Department of the Army, MICC-FT BELVOIR, is conducting a Sources Sought for Roof and HVAC Repair services for Building 6619 at Fort George G. Meade (FGGM), St James, MD. This market research aims to identify qualified small businesses for a potential future contract. Responses are due by March 3, 2026, 12:00 p.m. EDT.
Purpose and Background
This Sources Sought is for information and planning purposes to gauge industry interest and capabilities for addressing significant disrepair of the roof and HVAC system at Building 6619. This 25,300 sq ft single-story structure, built in 2001, houses FGGM’s Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), including the Police and Fire Departments. An engineering study identified roof issues (disrepair, possible improper construction) and HVAC system struggles during extreme temperatures, creating an uncomfortable working environment.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves two primary components:
- Roof Replacement (CLIN 0001): Full demolition of existing standing seam metal and EPDM flat roofs, structural steel decking inspection/repair, installation of new standing seam and EPDM roofing systems with watertight warranties, replacement of gutters, downspouts, soffit, fascia, and lightning protection system (including testing/commissioning). Exterior painting and as-built drawings are also required.
- HVAC System Component Replacement and TAB/Commissioning (CLIN 0002): Initial inspection and analysis by a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer, development of repair/replacement recommendations, demolition and replacement of existing HVAC equipment as determined by DPW, Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) of new air distribution systems (including duct air leakage testing), and provision of as-built drawings.
Work for both CLINs must minimize disturbances to building occupants.
