Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Statement of Work details the requirements for the repair of Buildings 17903 and 17904, which are live fire training facilities.

General:

• Repair Buildings 17903 & 17904.
• Submit a complete set of drawings stamped by a licensed professional engineer with live fire training structure experience.
• Use only material specified by the engineer and suitable for live fire training facilities.
• New fire protection liner panels shall be 1" thick, unless otherwise specified.

Building 17903 Specifics:

• Repair an elevated platform by removing existing railings and installing new circular handrails and a safety rail.
• Install a 40" wide swinging gate at the end of the platform and 40" wide steps with handrails leading to the ground.
• Remove and dispose of existing electrical box, wiring, and thermocouples. Install a new permanent pyrometer and three new thermocouples.
• Remove and replace 26 existing liner panels of various sizes (20"x48", 20"x34", 20"x36").

Building 17904 Specifics:

• Install fire protection liner panels on the inside surface of all doors and shutters on the ground floor only.

• Install liner panels and protective trim around the entire interior perimeter for ground floor doors and shutters.

• Remove and replace structural framing around all doors and shutters.

• All doors and shutters shall have continuous stainless steel hinges, except as noted.

• Remove and replace four exterior personnel doors and framing, installing sliding locks and pull handles on the outside.

• Adjust panels in the Burn Room where gaps are too wide, per engineer's recommendations.

• Remove and replace an interior personnel door and frame between the Hallway and stairs, ensuring the door swing remains the same.

• Remove and replace damaged sheet metal paneling in the Hallway walls and ceiling, then install new liner panels.

• Install a new self-closing, double swinging door and frame in the walkway opening between the Burn Room and Hallway, with fire panels and pull handles on both sides.

• Remove and replace nine window shutters (approx. 3'x3'-6"), with specific opening directions and locking mechanisms for ground floor vs. upper floors.

• Repaint the entire exterior of the building, including stairs and railings, and all metal surfaces in the tower interior.

• Remove and reinstall the building number plate.

• Remove and dispose of existing pipe connections for standpipe and sprinkler system. Install a new FDC Siamese fitting and internal Tee fitting.

• Remove and replace sprinkler head and pipe in the Hallway.

• Perform a 5,000-lb pull test on a rappel anchor and submit certification.

• Inspect and tighten/replace fasteners on metal siding and stairs.

• Remove and replace pyrometer, wiring, and six thermocouples in burn cells.

• Remove and install a new ship's ladder and fall protection system.

• Remove and replace the roof hatch with a stainless steel hatch and hold down clamps.

• Location: Buildings 17904 & 17903.

• Performance Period: 180 days total (60 days for Design, 120 days for Construction).

• Working Hours: Standard - 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

• Design Effort: 95% & 100% Drawings.

• Restricted Area: No.
