Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the performance requirements and tasks for "FDC Bulk Diesel Fuel Delivery" services, which are necessary to supply diesel fuel, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), and lithium grease tubes for the cryostat installation at the Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) / Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) project.

• Deliverables: #2 ultra-low sulfur off-road diesel fuel (summer and winter blends), diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), and lithium grease tubes.

• Fuel Specifications: Diesel fuel must be grade #2D with less than 0.5% sulfur, clear hydrocarbon oil free from suspended water and sediment, and dyed for off-road use. Winter blend mix (October 15th - April 15th) is a blend of fuel oil #1 (kerosene) and fuel oil #2D.

• DEF Specifications: Provided in 2.5-gallon containers, meeting ISO 22241 specification, and maintained at manufacturer-recommended temperatures.

• Grease Tubes: NLGI #2 lithium grease, provided in 10-tube cases.

• Storage Tanks: Subcontractor to provide two (2) 1,500-gallon U.S.T. above-ground diesel fuel tanks, double-walled, two-hour fire-tested, with built-in secondary containment and interstitial monitoring capability. Includes a 12V battery-powered pump package with set up and commissioning.

• Delivery Vehicle: Metered trucks with specific requirements for hoses, nozzles, water separators, filters, and fire extinguishers.

• Deliveries to be made to the SURF site in Lead, South Dakota, at Ross Yard, 100 Ross Rd.

• Subcontractor responsible for all management, personnel, facilities, materials, supplies, tools, transportation, and equipment.

• Normal deliveries during Subcontractor's standard business hours. Emergency deliveries within twelve (12) hours of FFDG request.

• Recognized Lab holidays are listed, and work stoppages due to weather are expected.

• Subcontractor must provide staff training (licensed to operate fuel delivery trucks, DOT Hazardous Material Certified) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, flame-resistant clothing, safety toe boots, gloves, and hearing protection if needed.

• Subcontractor must maintain and provide safety records, including SDS, OSHA logs, training records, inspection records, and safety meeting minutes.

• Periodic communication and progress meetings between FFDG and the Subcontractor.

• Subcontractor responsible for all transportation requirements.
