Scope of Work
The selected A/E firm will provide comprehensive services, including:
- Part One Services (Design Phase): Develop complete drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for the new elevator tower.
- Part Two Services (Construction Period Services):
- Respond to construction contractor Requests For Information (RFIs) during solicitation and construction.
- Attend post-award and commissioning kick-off conferences.
- Review construction material submittals and shop drawings.
- Attend weekly teleconference construction meetings.
- Conduct approximately one site visit per month during active construction (scheduled and emergent) to ensure design compliance.
- Prepare site visit reports and coordinate with project commissioning/QEI inspection.
- Review construction project modifications for cost and technical acceptability.
- Participate in pre-final and final acceptance inspections, prepare punch lists, and create record drawings based on as-built drawings.
- Prepare and maintain a submittal log and an RFI log.
- Coordinate with the VA Central Western Massachusetts Health Care System regarding underground utilities (steam, electrical, etc.).
