- Developing construction documents for the removal of existing Substation 9 and installation of a new substation, associated outgoing feeders, busducts, and cables.
- Correcting Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) electrical deficiencies.
- Installing new distribution panel boards, branch panels, and feeders compliant with VA Electrical Design Manual and NFPA standards.
- Conducting comprehensive analyses: short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, overcurrent devices, coordination, and arc flash hazard.
- Updating single line distribution drawings for normal and emergency power.
- Providing mechanical, plumbing, and structural design necessary to support new electrical equipment.
- Phasing work to minimize service outages, adopting a "make before break" concept.
- Providing an independent third-party life safety review and collaborating with Medical Center Infection Control Staff for Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA).
- Commissioning of the new electrical panels/equipment.
