Quick Summary

The Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), on behalf of the Product Manager (PdM) for Satellite Communications (PdM SATCOM), has issued a Call for Solutions (CFS) under the Army Open Solicitation (AOS). This initiative seeks innovative commercial solutions for a Large Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO) terminal capable of High-Throughput, Low-Latency (HT/LL) data transmission. The goal is to acquire adaptable, modular, intuitive, and reprogrammable antenna systems to close a critical capability gap. Solution Briefs are due April 13, 2026, at 17:00 EDT.

Scope of Work

The CFS requires solutions for a GEO antenna system with specific technical attributes, including:

  • Modular and Scalable Design: Transportable in cases liftable by two persons (max 102 lbs per case).
  • Multi-Band Support: Military X and Ka Band, Commercial Ka and Ku band certified.
  • Waveform Compatibility: Support for current and emerging waveforms (Linkway, EBEM, iDirect Evolution, SES mPower).
  • Connectivity: Ethernet and fiber optic baseband.
  • Power: Worldwide AC (120/208 VAC) or optional 24V DC (Mil-STD-1275).
  • Tracking: Full rotational coverage for GEO and MEO satellites.
  • Security: TRANSEC per FIPS 140-3.
  • Rapid Deployment: Maximum 15-minute tool-less setup/teardown.
  • Technology Readiness Level (TRL): Minimum TRL 7.
