Quick Summary

The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), through the Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal, has issued a Call for Solutions for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Printer Capability. This initiative seeks innovative solutions to integrate Advanced Manufacturing (AdvM) FDM technology at the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), with an option for Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD), to address critical readiness gaps in aviation maintenance operations. The goal is to enable rapid fabrication of qualified parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, and ground support equipment. Solution Briefs are due June 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM Central Time.

Scope of Work

This Call for Solutions requires the provision of two types of FDM printers: one with a minimum build envelope of 16 x 14 x 16 inches and another with a minimum build envelope of 36 x 24 x 36 inches. Key technical requirements include specific build accuracy, network communication capabilities (10/100 base T, ethernet, wired TCP/IPv6), and operating system specifications (STIG-compliant Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 for the larger printer, Microsoft Windows-based for the other, including CAD and 3D slicer software). Printers must meet specific power requirements and regulatory compliance standards (CE, cTUVus, RCM, EAC, FCC Part 15, Subpart B). Supported print materials must include ASA, ABS, Antero, Ultem, PPSF, FDM Nylon, and ST-130. Solutions must be comprehensive, including shipping, onsite installation, ancillary equipment (dryer cabinets, post-processing systems), operating software, a minimum 4-year warranty, feedstock, initial onsite and OEM facility training, sustainment services (preventative maintenance, repair), and on-demand technical support.
