Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To serve as the Catholic Religious Education (RE) Coordinator for the Barksdale AFB Catholic Parish, managing and facilitating all Catholic religious education programs.

• Develop and implement a yearly continuing RE program for all parishioners (preschool through adults).

• Develop an annual fiscal year budget for religious education programs, including materials, supplies, and activities.

• Select materials and manage fund requests for RE items, adhering to accounting procedures.

• Plan and coordinate registration, recruit teachers (including substitutes), and train volunteers for CCD programs.

• Coordinate digital outreach and youth/young adult ministry outreach events.

• Maintain office hours and be available to volunteers/workers.

• Work a minimum of eighteen hours per week.

• Recruit and train teachers and volunteers for an ecumenical Vacation Bible School (VBS).

• Ensure Installation Record Checks (IRC) are completed for RE teachers and volunteers working with children.

• Participate in continuing education/professional development events as funds allow.

• Maintain the Catholic RE office and storeroom.

• Monitor funds received in the CCD program.

• Ensure facilities are cleaned and secured after programs/events.

• Draft publicity for programs and assist in planning religious liturgies.

• Work with chapel public affairs for publicity.

• Education and Experience: At least one year of teaching experience in a Catholic educational setting (military setting preferred); Bachelor of Art, Theology/faith formational/Catechesis/Religious educated or related field preferred. Documented evidence of educational and work background required.

• Skills: Professionalism, excellent oral and written communication, ability to work with others, ability to coordinate in multi-denominational settings, proficiency in Microsoft Suite and social media platforms.

• Physical: Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

• Security: Must submit an application for a background check according to DOD Instruction 1402.5.

• Facilities: Primary facilities will be Chapel One (Bldg 3578) and Chapel Two (4221).

• Federal Holidays and Base Closure: Observed according to standard federal holidays; contractors will not charge for hours not incurred during base closure or without oversight unless authorized by the COR.
