Scope of Work
The selected contractor will provide services as one (1) Catholic Religious Education Coordinator. Key responsibilities, as outlined in the draft Performance Work Statement (PWS), include:
- Preparing and administering a multi-faceted religious education program.
- Managing Catholic RE programs, including curriculum development, volunteer recruitment and training, and event coordination.
- Overseeing and supervising all Catholic RE activities and events.
- Developing an annual RE Program plan, including an events calendar, budget, and curriculum order.
- Recruiting, training, and managing volunteer teachers and substitutes.
- Coordinating special activities such as Vacation Bible School and annual Christmas programs.
- Assisting the Catholic chaplain in recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers for various chapel and base community services.
- Ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality publicity for RE and Chapel Community events, with chaplain approval. The position requires basic computer skills, the ability to function in a pluralistic setting, and physical capabilities (traveling stairs, lifting up to 25 lbs). The contractor must qualify for and complete certification by the Archdiocese of Military Services (AMS), including certification as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Viaticum. An average of 20 hours per week is anticipated, with the contractor responsible for 100% coverage of scheduled programs.
