CDDAR Trailers (Crashed, Damaged, or Disabled Aircraft Recovery)

Request for Information (RFI)

This announcement is a Sources Sought Synopsis and Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry capabilities for providing commercial items related to Crashed, Damaged, or Disabled Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) Trailers. This is not a solicitation for quotes or bids, and no contract will be formed based on responses. The Air Force is seeking capability statements and other relevant information from interested sources.

• Vendors are requested to provide a capability statement detailing their ability to provide CDDAR Trailer services.

• Include highlights of experience on similar government or commercial contracts/agreements.

• Indicate business size (Large or Small), CAGE code/DUNS.

• Provide a list of similar contracts or agreements, including program/project name, contract number or identifier, administering office/address, and point of contact with telephone number.

• The 412 TW/Innovation at Edwards AFB, CA is determining the acquisition strategy.

• Anticipated contract award is under NAICS 336214 (size standard 1000 employees) with PSC 7110.

• The contract will be firm-fixed price.

• SAM.gov registration is mandatory.

• Responses will contribute to the Market Research Report for acquisition strategy development.

• Vendors are invited to provide input on contract type, clauses, and other aspects to help develop an efficient acquisition strategy.

• If sufficient capable sources are identified, a formal RFQ will be posted on SAM.gov.

• Responses should be in Microsoft Word or compatible format, to the point, and no more than 6 double-spaced pages.

• Responses shall not be proprietary and will be unclassified.

• Responses are due no later than June 17, 2026, 11:00 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

• Small Business sources should state their business size status based on the referenced NAICS.

This document details the specifications for two types of composite trailers: an 8.5x26x8 "Standard Box Trailer" and an 8.5x20x8 "Equipment Trailer Specs". It outlines the features, dimensions, and additional components for each trailer type.

Standard Box Trailer (8.5x26x8):

• Dimensions: 10'4" tall, 8' inside height, 106" wide, 102" rear door opening.
• Features: Rear spoiler, drop sides, 48" split RV door, drop entry step, LED exterior running lights, 7000 lbs slipper axles, hydraulic power front jack, 12-volt battery, 040 aluminum or 080 polycore, studs 16" on center, radius roof, 3 interior/1 exterior lights, underbelly, adjustable coupler, drive-over fenders, fender skirts, 32" stop sign front end, 60" tongue, 6 D rings, 16" aluminum wheels with G-rated tires.
• Additional Features: Off-road capable, drop-down rear for loading, steel floor, E-track, 100-gallon fuel station, LED interior/exterior lighting, 2500 BTU mini-split AC/heat, lower base cabinets (climate controlled/insulated), bathroom with toilet/sink/holding tank, 114-gallon water tank, additional batteries.
• Optional Additions: Mini refrigerator/freezer, microwave, built-in generator, Mobile Starlink, Go Pro live stream, instant smart TV.

Equipment Trailer Specs (8.5x20x8):

• Dimensions: 10'4" tall, 8' inside height, 106" wide, 102" rear door opening.
• Features: Similar standard features to the box trailer, including axles, lighting, power jack, battery, aluminum/polycore construction, and tires.
• Additional Features: Off-road capable, steel floor, LED lighting, 5500lb winch, custom built shovel/rake/broom storage rack, additional batteries.
• Optional Additions: 3/8" plywood walls, 200-watt solar, flat front.

Common to Both:

• Installation of CDDAR's equipment racks and air compressor (includes shipping if not local).
• Shipping cost of trailer to Edwards AFB (if not local).
• Bumper pull hitch style.
