Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation (RFQ) for a firm-fixed-price purchase order for the purchase, delivery, and installation of a Checkweigher. The U.S. Army Contracting Command – New Jersey (ACC-NJ) is issuing this solicitation for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Armaments Center (DEVCOM AC) to verify the weight of ammunition components and complete rounds.

• A conveyor belt checkweigher system capable of passing individual components ranging from 5.56mm up to .338" diameter over a weigh cell.

• Optimized to inspect and convey parts with a length of 1.119" and a diameter of approximately 0.3085".

• Capable of weighing articles up to at least 200 grams with an accuracy of +/- 30 milligrams or better at +/- 2s, consistently at 80 parts per minute (ppm) or greater.

• Maximum throughput of no less than 120 ppm.

• System shall have programmable logic controller (PLC) or PC-based controls with monitoring, alarming, and data export capabilities.

• Control system shall comply with Human Factors Engineering guidance (MIL-STD-1472G, commercial guidelines, ANSI, OSHA).

• Operates via a color touch screen; data shall be saved and exportable to Microsoft Excel.

• Capable of storing and recalling a minimum of 200 product weight profiles.

• Components susceptible to oxidation shall be protectively coated; drive belts and motors shall be shielded.

• Footprint not greater than 15 square feet.

• Operates on 110 volts, single phase.

• Failsafe operation with four reject stations and active acceptance of parts.

• Requires not more than 100 psi for reject air blast devices.
