Statement of Need (SON)

To define the scope of equipment specifications for Air Purification Systems to improve air quality in Enlisted and Officer Dormitory buildings.

• Installation of Air Purification Systems in Buildings 972, 971, 973, 964, 958, 547, 550, and 555.

• The system should eliminate and kill mold, fungus, viruses, bacteria, and germs on surfaces and in the air.

• The system aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and prevent mold growth.

• The system must comply with AFI 32-6000 Chapter 2 requirements related to condensation, air circulation, and dust/mildew minimization.

• Type: Air Purification System

• Configuration: Dedicated to a single living unit (not multi-room).

• Installation: Permanently attach via a 3-prong 110-120v electrical wall receptacle (limited to 10 amps per device).

• Coverage: Must cover up to 500 SQ FT.

• Technology: Must utilize Active Air Infusion technology to eliminate and kill airborne and surface contaminants.
