Additional Notes

This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain quality. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge are held by qualified sources, who retain data rights. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity’s procedures, approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. Award will be made only if the offeror, product/service, or manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award per FAR clause 52.209-1. One or more items are subject to Free Trade Agreements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice, despite the Government not planning to use Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items).
