Key Requirements & Considerations
This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain quality. Existing qualified sources possess unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge, along with data rights or technical data not economically available to the Government. Any alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity’s procedures, approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity.
Award will be made only if the offeror, product/service, or manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award, as per FAR clause 52.209-1. One or more items under this acquisition are subject to Free Trade Agreements. While the Government is not planning to use Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) policies, interested parties may identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.
