Quick Summary
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), is soliciting quotations for a Combustion Analyzer for carbon and nitrogen content in biological samples. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) aims to acquire equipment to quantify terrestrial carbon and nitrogen concentrations in plant, soil, and microbial samples at the BARC-West laboratory in Beltsville, MD. Quotes are due May 11, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for one (1) combustion analyzer to replace a non-functional unit, with potential for future integration with an isotope ratio mass spectrometer. The analyzer will be used to assess changes in soil biochemistry and improve plant production and carbon cycling models.
