Quick Summary

The Department of the Army (W6QK ACC-APG) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors capable of providing commercially available, M-Code Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solutions for mounted vehicles. This RFI aims to inform future acquisition strategies for PNT capabilities on Army platforms. Responses are due by February 12, 2026.

Purpose & Scope

The RFI seeks to understand industry capabilities for non-developmental (production-ready within 90 days), M-Code PNT solutions that are compliant with the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR) A-Kit (mount) and space claim. The goal is to find cost-efficient and effective solutions that can leverage existing integrations on Army vehicles to reduce fielding costs and schedules. This initiative addresses challenges posed by adversary GPS denial and deception efforts. Information gathered will influence potential procurement methods, including Reverse Auctions, Commercial Solutions Openings, FAR 12 (Commercial Products/Services), FAR 16.5 (IDCs), and FAR 14 (Sealed Bidding).

Requested Information

Respondents must answer 16 specific questions covering:

  • Commercial M-Code Solution: Availability, description, TRL assessment, and test events.
  • Contract Vehicles: Current government contract availability, primary applications, and customer base.
  • Cost Estimates: Unit costs for 1-year and multi-year contracts at various quantities (500-10,000 units/year), assuming Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for the M-Code receiver (excluding antenna costs).
  • AJAS: Unit cost and interoperability with various AJAS systems.
  • Production & Logistics: Lead time, current production capacity, quality management certifications (e.g., ISO 9000), warranty, repair turn-around time, and average repair cost.
  • Technical Details: Compatibility with DAGR A-kit cables, number of client systems supported, environmental and EMI testing (MIL/commercial standards), and provided technical documentation/training.

Submission Details

  • Response Due: February 12, 2026 (NLT 10 business days after posting).
  • Questions Due: One week after the posting date.
  • Format: Microsoft Word (Office 2007-compatible) or PDF, limited to five (5) pages (including cover/administrative pages).
  • Delivery: Via DoD SAFE to Mr. Charles Compton (charles.t.compton5.civ@army.mil) and Major Bryant Burch (bryant.l.burch.mil@army.mil).
  • Subject Line: "Commercial Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Solutions RFI, Unique ID #, Your Company Name."

Additional Notes

This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to a procurement action. The Government will not reimburse costs incurred by respondents. Proprietary information will be safeguarded. Information regarding the DAGR A-kit can be requested by providing specific company and security details to the listed POCs.
