Quick Summary

NASA/NSSC has issued a Presolicitation for Commscope Utility Tunnel Camera Installation and Service at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. This requirement involves the purchase and installation of sixteen (16) pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras and associated equipment within utility tunnels to monitor environmental conditions and ensure worker safety. While the metadata indicates a Total Small Business Set-Aside, NASA/NSSC intends to issue this as a sole source contract to SAUNDERS CONTRACTING SERVICES, INC. However, interested organizations are invited to submit capability statements to determine if the procurement should be conducted on a competitive basis. Responses are due by May 21, 2026.

Scope of Work

The project requires the procurement and installation of sixteen (16) Axis Q6325-LE PTZ Cameras and related accessories, including CommScope POE Extenders, Cisco SFP modules, and CommScope Hybrid fiber optic cable. Key tasks include:

  • Field verification of camera locations, mounting, and installation of cable pathways.
  • Running fiber optic cable, performing fusion splices, and terminating DC power conductors.
  • Testing and certifying all fibers using a Fluke OTDR.
  • Providing startup and configuration for all 16 cameras.
  • Performing core drilling operations for fiber pathways, with GPR verification to avoid utilities.
