Special Requirements & Qualifications
Contractors must meet stringent qualifications due to the hazardous environment of the utility tunnels (permit-required confined spaces with high temperatures, voltages, asbestos, etc.). Required qualifications include:
- AXIS Channel Partner or higher, with AXIS Certified Professionals.
- Current Confined Space Training, BICSI Technician-Level certification, Fluke Networks Certified Cabling Test Technician certification.
- Journeyman's electrical license in Virginia and current general construction safety training.
- Experience with Emerson DeltaV Control System and automation/process controls is required, ensuring no impact on the Langley Steam Plant.
- A minimum one-year warranty on the entire system (parts and labor) with an 8-hour response time.
