Key Requirements

  • Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system acceptable to the Government, in accordance with ISO 9001. Suppliers currently using MIL-I-45208 may continue to do so.
  • Mercury-Free: Materials supplied must be mercury-free for use on submarines/surface ships. Any functional use of metallic mercury requires written approval from the Procurement Contracting Officer.
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control: Compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20 is mandatory.
  • Production Facility Changes: Any changes to production facilities require written approval from the Contracting Officer and may necessitate a $250 price reduction for administrative costs.
  • Marking: Items must be identified in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
