• Bidders should provide pricing for the specified concrete types and optional admixtures.

• The total additive usage shall not exceed $6,225.00 without Contracting Officer approval.

• Vendors are allowed 6 minutes per cubic yard for unloading at no additional cost. Unloading time exceeding this will be charged at the documented hourly rate, not to exceed 120 minutes total without approval.

Specifications

This document outlines the specifications for the supply and delivery of concrete and associated admixtures to Canyonlands National Park, Moab, UT. The concrete is intended for use in sidewalks and curbs along an expanded parking lot and an accessible walkway at the Grand View Point Area.

• Concrete Supply: Grey or integral color concrete (Davis 5084 or equivalent) with specific mix design requirements including:

  • 10 cubic yard (CY) minimum truck capacity with front discharge chute.
  • 110 CY colored, 10 CY grey.
  • Air Entrainment: 5% ± 1.5% (ASTM C260).
  • 28 Day Compressive Strength: ≥ 4,000 psi (ASTM C873).
  • Water-Cement Ratio: 0.35 ≤ W/C ≤ 0.45.
  • Slump: 4 to 6 inches (ASTM C143).
  • Maximum Aggregate Size: 1 inch (ASTM C33).
  • Temperature: ≤ 90°F (ASTM C1094).

• Admixtures: Optional admixtures for hot or cold weather placement may be required, including ice, delay set, fly ash, hot water, calcium chloride, and fiber mesh. Total additive usage is capped at $6,225.00 without approval.

• Delivery: FOB destination to the Grand View Point Area. Coordination with the Park Project Crew is required. Minimum 4 days' notification prior to delivery. No deliveries on weekends or Federal Holidays.

• Period of Performance: 240 days after contract award.

• Submittals: Electronic cut sheets documenting concrete mixture and admixture compliance, and certification of 28-day compressive strength must be included with the quote.

• Pricing: Include delivery cost per Cubic Yard. Payment for concrete is based on certified weigh tickets. Payment for optional admixtures is based on actual usage.
