Key Requirements & Quality Assurance
- First Article Approval (Government Testing) is mandatory, with one penetrator assembly unit to be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for testing.
- Extensive Testing Certifications are required, including Non-Destructive Tests, Dye Penetrant Inspection, Visual Magnification, Ultrasonic Inspection, and Quality Conformance/Compliance Inspection. The dielectric voltage withstanding test must be performed at 1000 VAC for 60 seconds.
- Slow Strain Rate Tensile Tests for QQ-N-286 material must be conducted by specific approved laboratories.
- Thread Inspection must follow FED-STD-H28 series, with A-A-59004 anti-galling compound for lubricants. Internal threads must be cut, not cold-formed.

- Contractors must maintain a Quality System in accordance with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-STD-45662).
