Quick Summary
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), under the Department of the Interior, is soliciting quotes for Copper Mountain Hand-Cutting/Piling services (Solicitation 140L3726Q0030). This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside for manual juniper cutting and piling for fuels reduction in Fremont County, Wyoming. The award will be a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order based on the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) method. Proposals are due by April 16, 2026, at 0900 MDT.
Scope of Work
The contractor will perform hand cutting (chainsaw) and piling of junipers on BLM-administered lands in the Copper Mountain area. The project includes approximately 150 base acres with two options for an additional 48 acres (20 acres for Option 1, 28 acres for Option 2). Specific tasks involve cutting and piling conifer/juniper, slashing, and cut and pile work, adhering to defined standards for stump height (no taller than 5 inches), cutting restrictions, and slash pile construction. Mechanized equipment is not permitted; work will be performed on foot with chainsaws, accessed via dirt and two-track roads. Slash must be hand piled, with no mastication or chipping allowed, and up to 5% of limbs can be left lying. The project area is not within or immediately adjacent to the Copper Mountain WSA.
