Quick Summary
The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC), in conjunction with Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI), has issued a Special Notice for a forthcoming Cornerstone Initiative Request (CIR). This CIR will solicit whitepaper proposals for an Expenditure-based Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) to design and construct a JMTC Forging Equipment Annex & Weapons Quality Assurance/Calibration Facility at Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC) in Rock Island, IL. This effort aims to strengthen the U.S. Manufacturing and Defense Industrial Base.
Scope of Work
The objective is to design and construct two distinct manufacturing/QA spaces. These facilities will house a large-scale press forging manufacturing capability and recoil simulation testing for artillery systems, along with all necessary supporting operations.
