Quick Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV, is soliciting proposals for Courier Services. Scope of Work

The contractor will provide courier services on an as-needed basis to transport biohazardous materials, specimens for laboratory analysis, reagents, laboratory products, pharmacy supplies, and medications. Deliveries will occur between the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center and various medical facilities, including West Virginia University Hospitals, United Hospital Center, and the American Red Cross in Johnstown, PA, as well as other surrounding area medical facilities. Strict timeliness is required, typically within 2 hours, with a 4-hour window for deliveries to the American Red Cross in Johnstown, PA. The contractor must be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and provide contact numbers for service calls. While the Government will pack materials, the contractor is responsible for safe transportation. A dependable, secure, and thoroughly inspected vehicle is required; however, ancillary equipment like lift gates, pallet jacks, or temperature control is not necessary, nor is a minimum fleet size or backup capacity.
