Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 621st Contingency Response Group (CRG), has issued a Special Notice (Sources Sought) to identify potential sources for UTS HH75 Heaters. These heaters are required to provide reliable heating for personnel and equipment in arctic and sub-arctic conditions (below -10°F, down to -50°F with kerosene), where current Environmental Control Units (ECUs) are insufficient. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Responses are due June 15, 2026.
Scope of Work
The 621 CRG requires rapid deployment capabilities globally, including arctic and sub-arctic environments. The UTS HH75 Heater is essential to enable force elements to operate in these extreme conditions while remaining light, lean, and agile. The current 5-ton ECUs have an ambient operating temperature limitation of -25°F, and their heating capability (12Kw/40,000 BTU/hr) significantly increases fuel consumption. The UTS HH75 Heater, with its 75,000 BTU/H output, multi-fuel capability (DF1, DF2, JP5, JP8, Kerosene), and low fuel consumption (0.53 gal/hr for 22 hours on a full 11.6-gallon tank), addresses this critical gap. The equipment will support 621 CRW operations on base and during deployments, training, and exercises.
