Scope of Work
The required services, to be performed at Building 302, NIST, Gaithersburg, MD, include:
- Boiler Repairs: Replacing water column piping on boilers #1, #2, #3, & #4, and replacing four Yarway boiler blowdown valves on boilers #5 & #6.
- Fuel Tank Cleaning: Flushing, cleaning, and biocide treating eight 30,000-gallon diesel fuel tanks (tanks 1, 2, 7, and 8), including fuel filtering and stabilization.
Key Requirements
Contractors must be ASME "R" stamp qualified for boiler repair and welding, possessing a minimum of ten (10) years of experience repairing high-pressure boilers under ASME "R" code. Maintenance of ASME welding and NBBI "R" certifications is mandatory. The work requires an OSHA-compliant safety plan and adherence to HSPD-12 for facility access.
