Statement of Work (SOW)

To procure one (1) new Straight Line Rip Saw to replace an outdated machine that is maintenance intensive and lacks necessary safety equipment to meet OSHA standards.

• The contractor shall provide all labor and materials to construct, deliver, and place into operation one (1) new straight line rip saw.

• The saw must be a Diehl model SL65-56 or equivalent, designed for cutting wood.

• Key characteristics include: 208-volt, 3-phase, 60-cycle operation; 20 HP belt-driven spindle with automatic brake; 3 HP feed drive motor with variable speed (70-200 FPM); 56" throat capacity; 30" table support to the left of the blade; lower anti-kickback fingers; precision spindle; electro-pneumatic feed chain lubrication; NEMA Type 12 operator control panel; heavy-duty pressure beam; and infeed safety features.

• The saw must be the manufacturer's standard exterior color.

• The contractor is responsible for all transportation and shipping.

• The saw must be in compliance with all OSHA, federal, state, and local codes and regulations.

• Equipment furnished must be new from the manufacturer's most current production.

• The contractor shall coordinate a Site Visit prior to installation to ensure electrical and ventilation connections are in place.

• The SITE is responsible for ensuring necessary electrical drop/disconnect points are in place and for making the final electrical connection.

• The saw is to be connected to existing ventilation systems; no modification is required.

• Delivery and installation at DLA DISTRIBUTION, Building 1221, Bay 5, Door 20, Albany, GA 31704.

• Warranty coverage shall be the manufacturer's standard warranty, but not less than one year for parts and labor.

• The contractor shall provide one (1) complete set of operator, parts, and service manuals with each machine.

• The contractor shall provide one (1) 8-hour training session on the safe operation of the installed Rip Saw.

• Final acceptance will be performed by personnel at the receiving location.

Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation (RFQ) for a new straight-line rip saw, to be procured as a firm-fixed-price purchase order. The government intends to award one contract. The acquisition is a Small Business Set-Aside.

• One (1) new straight-line rip saw with specific salient characteristics (e.g., 230 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle electrical operation, 20 HP belt driven spindle, 56" throat capacity, etc.).

• Installation of the rip saw at DLA Distribution Albany, GA (DDAG).

• One (1) 8-hour training session on safe operation of the installed rip saw.

• Delivery within 120 days After Receipt of Order (ARO).

• All equipment must be new and compliant with OSHA, federal, state, and local codes.

• Contractor must provide operator, parts, and service manuals.

• Contract Type: Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) purchase order.

• Period of Performance: 120 days ARO for delivery.
