This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (RFQ) for commercial construction services under FAR Part 36. The objective is to restore structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal to the outdoor area behind Building 66 by removing damaged sections and constructing new ones. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed-price award with a period of performance of 90 days after the Notice to Proceed. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000.
Scope of Work
The contractor will perform:
- Demolition: Dismantle and dispose of the existing brick BBQ grill and concrete foundation (approx. 7.5'x10'x0'10").
- Site Preparation: Install temporary barriers, clear, level, and compact native soil, and compact sub-base layers (6" crusher run/DGA, 6" #57 stone).
- Foundation Construction: Pour a new 8.5'x12'x1.5' concrete slab on grade using 4000 psi concrete and #6 grade 60 steel reinforcing, ensuring it's level with the existing pavilion foundation and includes an expansion joint.
- BBQ Grill Construction: Build a new brick BBQ grill according to UFC 3-110-03, matching existing design features (firebox, chimney, grates), with a minimum 1' clear space from the slab edge. All work must adhere to applicable federal, state, and local building codes and standards.
