Scope of Work

The contractor will provide services including supervision, labor, materials, equipment, facilities, travel, and per diem. Key tasks include:

  • Base Task: Modify existing Delft3D numerical models (hydrodynamics, salinity, temperature) for proposed project alternatives, simulating one calendar year of with-project conditions using approximately 500,000 nodes.
  • Optional Tasks:
    • Modify existing Delft3D models for sediment transport.
    • Set up new Delft3D models for various locations (up to 1M+ nodes).
    • Provide advanced Delft3D modeling support for Engineering With Nature® (EWN®) projects, including training.
    • Develop training material specific to ERDC-CHL projects.
    • Develop Python or MATLAB tools/packages to interpret 2D/3D Delft3D input/output.

Required Expertise & Environment

Offerors must demonstrate proficient expertise in:

  • Using DELFT3D, Adaptive Hydraulics (AdH), and DELFT 2D and 3D model codes.
  • Numerical modeling of hydrodynamics and sediment transport.
  • Working on Linux high-performance computing (HPC) machines and coding in Python and MATLAB.
  • Meeting security requirements to access ERDC HPC machines.

Contract & Timeline

  • Contract Type: Request for Quote (RFQ) leading to a single Firm Fixed Price purchase order.
  • Period of Performance: Base task is 745 calendar days from award. Total contract duration, including options, shall not exceed 24.5 months.
  • Place of Performance: In-person at the ERDC CHL.
