This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Norfolk, VA to negotiate and award a sole-source acquisition to remove, replace, and renew U.S. Coast Guard Cutter ADELIE (WPB-87333) starboard shaft and propeller. SFLC anticipates an award of a firm fixed price contract to Platypus Marine, Inc. This acquisition is being issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 3205; permitting other than full and open competition. The contract terms and requirements will be developed jointly between the Government and Platypus Marine, Inc., in accordance with FAR 13. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611 and the size standard is 1,300 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. While the Government does not anticipate competition, any responsible source may submit a proposal that shall be considered. Information received will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement, which is solely within the discretion of the Government.
