Scope of Work
The primary objective is to modify the existing return air duct system within the EADS Server Room (Building 700, Room 102) to improve cooling efficiency and address potential hot spots. The scope includes:
- Disconnecting and capping existing return ductwork above the ceiling.
- Installing new galvanized steel ductwork (minimum 22 gauge) with mains, branches, hangers, supports, and diffusers, designed to accommodate 12 return ducts.
- Utilizing a Ductmate or equivalent joining system for all joints, sealed with mastic.
- Installing twelve 24"x24" return air grilles with opposed blade balancing dampers, connected via flex duct.
- Wrapping new ductwork with 1.5" fiberglass duct wrap with a vapor barrier.
- Balancing the return air system to maximize airflow from potential hot spots and providing a written report of airflow readings.
- Protecting existing equipment, flooring, and ceiling tiles within the server room during demolition and installation.
Contract Details & Requirements

- Magnitude: Estimated between $25,000 and $100,000 (IAW FAR 36.204(B)).
- Bonds: A performance bond is not required; however, a payment bond may be required IAW FAR 28.102-1(b)(1)(i).
- Period of Performance: 120 calendar days, including the Closeout Phase.

- Special Requirements: The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and quality control. All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, DoD policies, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and New York State Code. A Quality Control Plan (QCP) is required. Contractor personnel must possess current OSHA 30-Hour (contractor) and OSHA 10-Hour (on-site) Construction Training Certificates. All materials and equipment must be new and of good quality. Compliance with the attached Wage Determination (Davis-Bacon Act) is mandatory for labor costs.
