Statement of Objective (SOO)

To enhance the reliability and efficiency of the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system in Building 237 by replacing end-of-life batteries and capacitors for the Eaton 9390 UPS, thereby mitigating the risk of unexpected system failure.

• Certification: Work must be performed by an Eaton certified technician.
• Mandatory Site Visit: All potential vendors must conduct a site visit to inspect the existing UPS, verify field conditions, and take measurements to ensure proposed solutions are compatible with existing infrastructure.
• Battery System Modernization: Replace the entire battery bank with a new, optimized configuration. The new design should reduce the total number of individual batteries while maintaining the capability to support a critical load of 30KVA for a minimum runtime of two (2) hours.
• Capacitor Replacement: Replace all aged capacitors within the Eaton 9390 unit to restore it to original factory specifications.
• Disposal of Existing Batteries: The contractor is responsible for the safe removal and proper disposal of all old batteries in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
• System Testing and Validation: Upon installation, the system must undergo a full functional test to validate its operation and ability to support the required 30KVA load under simulated power-loss conditions for the specified duration.
