Quick Summary
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Maritime - Puget Sound has issued an Award Notice for the sole source procurement of ECI Array Probe equipment for critical inspections on ACE elevators for the LNG Project in Bremerton, WA. This action is justified due to the proprietary nature and critical compatibility requirements of the equipment.
Scope of Work
This procurement includes specialized eddy current surface array equipment for use with the existing MIZ-21C instrument. Key deliverables are:
- Three (3) Electronic Modules, P/N SURFXCEM-500-06
- Four (4) surface array weld probes, P/N SURFXW-S01
- Two (2) surface array probes, P/N SURFX-S01
Contract & Timeline
- Type: Sole Source Procurement (Award Notice)
- Estimated Value: Between $15,000 and $350,000
- Required Delivery Date: April 03, 2026
- Published: February 10, 2026
Justification for Sole Source
Competition is restricted to one source due to the proprietary nature and critical compatibility requirements. Eddyfi, through its ownership of Zetec, is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the MIZ-21C Array instrument and associated components. The Zetec MIZ-21C Array and surface array probes are the only equipment approved by Code 138 Test Examiners for these specific, mission-critical inspections. Non-conforming parts could lead to equipment malfunction and compromise inspection integrity.
Eligibility
This procurement is restricted to a single source, precluding full and open competition.
