CONSTRUCTION PROJECT:
The magnitude of construction is estimated to be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 The resulting contract will be firm-fixed-price.
PROJECT DETAILS:
The Government intends to solicit this requirement as an Invitation For Bid (IFB).
This project proposes to place up to 42,000 tons of beach nourishment fill material on the ocean (west) side of the Ediz Hook Revetment in Port Angeles, WA between Stations 174+00 and 145+00 using 6 to 12-inch rounded cobbles placed between elevations +12 ft MLLW and 0 ft MLLW. Construction activities must occur during the in-water construction work window of 16 July 2026 through 30 September 2026. Construction will occur in one season and is expected to last 4-6 weeks based on available funding. Access to the site and staging will be at the east end of the paper mill, near Sta. 151+00.
All construction activities would occur from the revetment or along the beach; the beach access point will be closed after fill placement is complete. An excavator would remove and replace armor rock along the revetment for access. Construction is expected to use excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers, and similar equipment. Dump trucks and trailers would transport equipment and materials to Ediz Hook. Dump trucks would place beach nourishment material along the revetment and a bulldozer would disperse it along the beach nourishment area.
