The A/E Design Firm will provide comprehensive Title I Design Services to develop a complete Issued For Construction (IFC) package. Key tasks include:
- Evaluating site conditions for the replacement of eighteen (18) medium-voltage transformers in Buildings B820 (power plant) and B830 (mission building).
- Developing IFC construction documents for the demolition of existing transformers and installation of new ones.
- Addressing logistical challenges related to material transport within the buildings, especially considering HEMP-shielded structures.
- Ensuring compatibility with existing switchgear and addressing potential residual PCB contamination.
- Creating phasing plans to minimize power outages during the project.
- Deliverables include drawings, specifications, a construction Statement of Work (SOW), a submittal register, an estimate of probable construction cost, and a Design Analysis.
- Conducting site investigations, reviewing as-built drawings, and holding design review meetings with Government stakeholders.
- Ensuring all designs conform with DoD Building Code (UFC-1-200-01) and associated Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- Developing a design-build solicitation package and a project construction cost estimate using DOD cost data (PACES or MII).
