The contract requires the supply of ELBOW,HOSE TO UNION components, manufactured and designed to MIL-F-24787 and other specified military and commercial standards. Key Requirements

  • Qualified Product List (QPL): Only items tested and approved on the QPL will be considered. This requirement will not be waived to allow approval of an unapproved source.
  • Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (amplified herein) and ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025. An alternate system per MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-45662 is acceptable.
  • Traceability & Certification: Extensive requirements for material traceability, chemical/mechanical analysis, and certifications, including electronic signatures for Level I documents. Certification data must be submitted via WAWF to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for review and acceptance prior to shipment.
  • Manufacturing: Internal threads must be cut, not cold formed. Specific material requirements include QQ-N-281, QQ-N-286, ASTM-A494, MIL-C-24723, and MIL-T-1368.
  • Welding/Brazing: Procedures and personnel must be qualified under specified standards (e.g., S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278). Welding procedure qualification data requires submission and approval prior to welding.
  • Mercury Free: Components must be free of mercury and mercury-containing compounds.
  • Packaging: Must comply with MIL-STD 2073.
