Quick Summary
The Department of the Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division, has issued a Special Notice to inform vendors of an upcoming Request for Solutions (RFS). This RFS will solicit proposals for the replacement of the MK20 MOD 1 Electro-Optic/Infrared (EO/IR) Sight System (EOSS). The Government intends to award a Project Order under the Expeditionary Missions Consortium (EMC2) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), in accordance with 10 U.S.C. § 4022. The RFS is anticipated to be released via the EMC2 website around June 30, 2026.
Scope of Work
The current MK20 MOD 1 EOSS, used on US Navy and US Coast Guard Gun Weapon Systems (GWS), presents obsolescence risks and issues due to limited sources and outdated architecture. The replacement EOSS will require updated performance criteria, including Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA), improved Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and adherence to Motion Industry Standards Board (MISB) standards. Further information can be found in RFI 26-01 on the EMC2 website.
