Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide effective performance of all inspection services for 16 elevators and 6 personnel lifts at the Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT.

• Conduct routine and periodic inspections and tests for elevators and personnel lifts.

• Ensure compliance with relevant ASME codes (A17.1, A17.2, A17.3, 18.1) and Connecticut laws.

• Review overall elevator system based on engineering practices, safety code compliance, firefighter service, ADAAG requirements, and modernization needs.

• Assess the present preventative maintenance program.

• Perform safety inspections and maintenance inspections.

• Document inspections using GSA Form 55, Certification of Elevator Inspection, and checklists provided in Appendix A to ASME A17.2.

• Identify and report deficiencies and/or recommendations.

• Schedule inspection visits at least 15 days in advance, submitting schedules to the COR.

• Handle reinspections as required for corrective work.

• Report emergency conditions immediately to the COR.

• Inspections must adhere to specified ASME codes and regulations.

• Reports must be submitted within defined timeframes (e.g., GSA Form 55 within two weeks of inspection).

• Emergency conditions require immediate verbal reporting and a written report within 24 hours.

• Inspections are to be performed during the month of June for each performance period.
